GeerWalker Wealth Management, LLP
Geoff’s financial advisory practice is broad in scope, ranging from traditional CFP® ingrained financial planning to full-scale implementation of wealth strategies. It was within this context, that after witnessing the financial destruction regularly resulting from divorce, Geoff became impassioned about ensuring people are fully aware of the consequences of their financial decisions throughout the uncoupling process and he began devoting his resources to becoming an expert about this life event. He has since been blessed to work with many divorcing women and men and their attorneys, counselors, tax advisors, and so forth and hopes he has made a positive impact during a challenging time.
As a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® (CDFA™), Geoff supports individuals going through mediated or adversarial divorce. Unlike those situations however, in a collaboratively resolved divorce he can work with both partners and their team of professionals so that they have a clearer view of their financial futures and what an equitable settlement would be. Only then can they approach a settlement that fully addresses the financial needs and capabilities of each. With proper planning, you can increase your chances of arriving at a settlement that fully addresses your long-term financial needs — and your spouse’s too.
Geoff and his wife, Missy, have lived in Charlotte since 2002 and have two children. He is active locally – having served on the liturgical council of his church and the boards of the Charlotte Collaborative Divorce Professionals and Mecklenburg Ministries. He has held several leadership roles for the Dilworth neighborhood, his kids’ school, and on civic committees. Geoff is a native of Chagrin Falls, Ohio and graduated from Miami University (OH) with a Public Administration degree and the University of Pittsburgh’s Katz Graduate School of Business with an MBA.
