  • 2019:
    • December 4, 2019: Annual Holiday Party at Dressler’s (Metropolitan) from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m..
    • CCDP is again offering a scholarship for a member to attend the IACP Forum October 24 – 27, 2019 in Chicago. Please complete the scholarship application and return it to Courtney Smith by July 31 for consideration. 2019 Scholarship Application (fillable)
    • September 19, 2019: lunch & learn event (12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m., Mecklenburg County Bar Center – 2850 Zebulon Road), presentation on non-violent communication by Mark Springfield, followed by discussion regarding approach to initial consultations and getting potential clients headed down the collaborative path.
      • Note that elections for the 3 open executive committee seats will be held at this event. Send nominations to Courtney Smith ( no later than September 15.
    • May 16, 2019: dinner & learn event (5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Mecklenburg County Bar Center (2850 Zebulon Avenue)) with presentation by Ashley-Nicole Russell on marketing your collaborative practice. Ms. Russell has been practicing Collaborative Divorce since she finished law school and has very successfully grown her practice while also maintaining work-life balance. She is the author of The Cure for Divorce Culture and will share her marketing secrets with us. An Evite will go out in advance of the event.
    • March 1, 2019, 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.: all day advanced training with Stephen Sulmeyer, J.D., Ph.D., on interest based negotiation at the 4th floor training room of the Mecklenburg County Courthouse (832 East 4th Street, Charlotte, NC).     • January 25, 2019, 8:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.: Breakfast & learn event with presentation by Chris Peace and Diane Willis (CCDP’s IACP Forum Scholarship recipients) at the Mecklenburg County Bar Center (2850 Zebulon Avenue).
  • 2018:
    • December 5, 2018 – tentative date for CCDP holiday social and annual meeting. Details forthcoming.
    • September 27, 2018 – CCDP membership meeting (including voting on executive board members and by-law amendments) and presentation by Maria Curran, Ph.D. and Laurie Reed, LCSW on creative uses of the child specialist role in collaborative cases. Please join us at 5:00 p.m. at the Mecklenburg County Bar Center (2850 Zebulon Avenue). Dinner will be served.
    • May 10, 2018:  CCDP presents, An Introduction to Collaborative Divorce, a free informational event open to the public. The event will take place at 6:00 p.m. in the Francis Auditorium of the Charlotte Mecklenburg Main Branch Library located at 310 N.     • April 13, 2018 – CCDP membership lunch & learn presentation by our own Scott Geyer, Ph.D. and Susan Campbell, Ph.D. on the topic of how social science research informs parenting plans for children under age 5. Please join us at 12:00 p.m. at the Mecklenburg County Bar Center.
    • March 9, 2018 – 7 hour advanced training entitled, “The Tough Ones: Collaborative Cases Involving Serious Mental Health, Domestic Violence, or Substance Abuse Issues” presented by Tampa Bay Collaborative Trainers Adam B. Cordover, Esq, Jeremy S. Gaies, Psy.D., and Barbara E. Kelly, Ph.D.  Register to attend the event via this link.
