As a Collaborative Divorce Coach and licensed and trained mental health professional, I can be a valuable resource to divorcing couples. I can assist individuals and families in the negotiations of their lives going forward, as well as settling anxieties that are common during separation and divorce. By assisting individuals and couples to divorce more creatively and more cooperatively, the goal is a restructuring of the family unit so as to maintain and build the best possible relationships going forward.
I have been a licensed clinical social worker in private practice since 1990 with dual Master’s degrees in Counseling and Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. I have many specialties in this capacity, including extensive work with couples and families. In addition, I completed a postgraduate certification in Somatic Experiencing Therapy in 2010 and then pursued a postgraduate Masters certification in the coaching field. Somatic Experiencing is a technique clients find to be very effective in my coaching to enable a settling of anxiety and fears that ensue throughout our lives and especially during this difficult transition.
Though my therapy work is aimed at assisting individuals, couples and families recover from issues that have affected their past and continue to affect their present lives, my collaborative coaching work is different, in that it is aimed at guiding issues in the present and providing the tools for how to move forward..
All of the work I do is client centered and the goals of the couples I work with, as well as individuals, are the focus of all coaching meetings. The overall goal is to create the most satisfying outcome for all parties involved.
